First element Geniedijk Bridge nearly on site

The steel contractor van Weelde in Belgium had to work hard to meet the time schedule for the transportation of the first bridge element from Belgium to the site near the Geniedijk in Hoofddorp the Netherlands. In total 4 main span (31m.) elements and 22 approach-bridge elements (16m.) will be stocked on site so they will get their final brow color (oxidation) which is so specific for structures made of Corten Steel. Beginning next year the whole bridge will be assembled and open for use.
